Of This Place 03:19 PM

Details

Part of our Of This Place series, the work reflects the meeting of land and sea, where stone holds the traces of both time and tide. This ongoing series captures moments in nature — freezing them in place before they change again. Each stone is set against an uneven oak backdrop, whose surface recalls the textures of sand, earth, and soil.

In the wild, these stones would continue to shift, weather, and rearrange with each season; here, they are held still, yet retain the memory of movement.

Of This Place is both a study of material and a record of belonging — works shaped by nature, yet placed within human spaces. The series serves as a quiet reminder of the beauty and fragility of the natural world, and of our shared responsibility to care for it.

Framing
